Truck Undercoating and Rust Protection in West Boylston, MA
Pickups and work trucks take the worst of Massachusetts road salt: open ladder frames, exposed brake and fuel lines, and bed supports that stay wet all winter. At our West Boylston shop we protect trucks with WaxOyl undercoating, strip rusted frames back to bare metal, and repair frames that are rusted through. Truck prices start at $999 for mid-size trucks and $1,199 for the F-150 class. Please call ahead: we book every job in advance.
Why Trucks Rust First
A truck frame is open to the road along its whole length, so salt spray and slush reach every rail, crossmember and mount. Brake lines and fuel lines run along the frame, and the bed hides the rear of it from view, so rust there is often found only when the truck goes in for inspection. Under the Massachusetts inspection rule (540 CMR 4.00), a frame rusted enough to cause a hazard or structural weakness fails. Protecting the frame before that point costs far less than repairing it.

What We Do for Trucks
WaxOyl Undercoating
For newer trucks and frames without rust damage. WaxOyl penetrates the frame rails, seams, joints and hidden cavities. One application protects for one full season of winter salt; we recommend a yearly re-inspection. WaxOyl undercoating details
Rust Removal & Sandblasting
For trucks that already carry salt damage. We sandblast the frame back to bare metal, inspect it and protect it again, so the rust is removed, not covered up. Rust removal and sandblasting details
Frame Repair
For trucks with frames rusted through or failing inspection. We fit replacement frame sections from SafeTCap or Rust Busters, made to match your truck’s frame. From $500. Frame repair details
Work Trucks and Fleets
Contractors, landscapers and delivery fleets put their trucks on salted roads every day. If you run more than one truck, see our fleet undercoating and rust protection and send us your vehicle list for one quote. Drivers come to us from across Worcester County: see the towns we serve for drive times and directions.
Truck Undercoating Questions
How long does truck undercoating last?
A full WaxOyl application protects for one full season of winter salt under typical Massachusetts driving. We recommend a re-inspection every year so we can touch up any coverage that has thinned.
Can you undercoat a truck that already has rust?
Light surface rust can be treated, but undercoating over heavy rust only hides it. If the frame has scale or flaking rust, we start with rust removal and sandblasting, then protect the bare metal.
Does the bed have to come off?
Only when the job needs full access to the frame under the bed. Bed removal is an add-on at $400, and we will tell you up front if your truck needs it.
My truck failed inspection for frame rust. What now?
Bring it in for an inspection. If the frame is rusted enough to fail, it usually needs frame repair with replacement sections; we will show you what we find and quote it. See frame repair.
